Copper Leg Residency
Jüri / Estonia
Monument of devotion for the new world’s society at Rae Kultuurikeskus, a cultural centre in Jüri, Estonia.
Sculpture I made during my stay at the Cooper Leg Art Residency in Vaskjala, Estonia. The structure is inspired by the vast diversity of Estonian folk beings, deities and legendary heroes. Researching it and finding out that most of the land is covered by nature and forests planted in my mind a vision of an idyllic place where magic still exists. All this inspired me to create an altar - a monument of worship for modern society.
The project took three weeks to finish. We installed the sculpture in front of Cultural Centre RAE in Jüri, Estonia. The crowning moment was the opening event with the participation of the mayor of Jüri and all the people involved in the project.
